Programs

We cultivate programming that responds to the apparent increase of creative energies emerging in our region by creating imaginative experiences to engage the public and spark conversations about the relationship of art to the way we live our lives.

Thematic Exhibitions respond to contemporary concerns or modes of expression in reaction to annual curatorial themes. These exhibitions take place in available indoor or outdoor venues.

Site-Specific Installations & Exhibitions selected by juried process in response to an open call for proposals submitted by curators, curatorial teams, artists or groups of artists who will take the lead in creating temporary environments, experiences and/or exhibitions that may or may not adhere to the annual theme.

Presentations include talks, performances, films, panel discussions, and other public presentations to engage a variety of audiences and pursue topics addressing cultural, esthetic, and/or social issues.

Resources for the Artists include gatherings that provide information and tools useful for artists at every stage of their careers.

Open Studios – Discover a different North Fork by exploring the private workspaces of its artists. NFC Open Studios is an ongoing program of studio visits that offers unique opportunities to experience the world of local artists in an intimate, contextualized, and personal way – before their works are installed in galleries, museums, or in collector’s homes. Each Open Studio event will showcase the work of artists across the North Fork from Riverhead to Orient who have generously invited us into their studios. Each tour ends with a gathering for conversation and refreshments.

NFC Editions These are program related catalogues, or limited edition multiples that may be published for sale to help offset operational costs.
