Sculpture @ Sylvester Manor is thrilled to present Monument (Sylvester Manor), Maren Hassinger’s latest addition to her formidable series of public sculptures. This year’s exhibition [R]evolution, opens at Sylvester Manor on June 13^th and continues until October 4^th, 2026. It is free to the public and is accompanied by a self-guided walking tour app.
Hassinger’s site-specific sculpture is being constructed with the participation of students from the Shelter Island Union Free School. The work is composed with a rebar and chicken-wire armature overlaid with brush material and wood sourced on the property of Sylvester Manor.
Due to inclement weather and conflicting schedules, the work remains incomplete. We are writing to ask for engaged hands to help finish the piece the week of June 7^th, specifically on the 10^th and 11^th, when the artist will return from a retrospective of her work at the Berkeley Art Museum in California.
We are deeply grateful to any volunteers who are willing to donate a little bit of the time and effort needed to bring this remarkable work across the finish line.

Linda Pasca is a former North Fork resident now residing in Hampton Bays.
Her oil paintings have a mystical quality that seem to bridge the natural and spiritual worlds. The atmosphere at Chronicle Wines provides a perfect setting for her painting style and color palettes.
