Unfolding brings together works by artists who teach at SCCC, each offering a distinct way of seeing and engaging with the world. Spanning painting, drawing, textiles, photography, video animation and installation, the exhibition presents a wide range of approaches to making, shaped by knowledge held collectively through teaching, learning and experience.
The works gathered here reflect varied perspectives and concerns. Some are grounded in material exploration or close observation, while others engage memory, identity, care, labor, or social and political realities. Together, they show art as a place where ideas are tested, questions are formed, and meaning emerges through process rather than polish.
At SCCC, these artists’ practices exist alongside teaching. The experiences artists carry into the classroom, their ways of looking, questioning, and making, shape how learning unfolds here. Unfolding recognizes this shared ground and affirms art as something that begins in curiosity, grows through practice, and is sustained in community.

Join us for a historical celebration in the beloved, long-standing East End Arts & Humanities Council Fine Art Gallery before it moves to a new space for the Riverhead Revitalization. This is a special opportunity to be part of local history as we share memories and frame our future.

• Hors d’oeuvres, refreshments, beer, and wine
• Live performances
• Special remarks from Legislator Doroski, Supervisor Halpin, Town Councilman Kern, and more
• Ephemeral community art experience, where messages and drawings are created live on the gallery walls and documented as the last art installation in the gallery as it’s known today

This event brings the EEAC and local community together and helps raise funds for the new temporary gallery space at 48 W. Main St.

Artists’s Talk, Saturday, April 18, at 3:30 pm
As part of her current solo exhibition, “Getting Lost on Purpose,” curated by Rainer Gross, Anne willl be sharing insights into the creative process behind my new prints and selected paintings. We will explore the themes of discovery and intuition that guided this body of work, followed by a walkthrough of the gallery. This is the final weekend to see the exhibition, which closes on Sunday, April 19th.
